            The Church Street Cumberland Presbyterian Church is seeking an experienced Musician (pianist) for its Gospel Ensemble (GE) and Children and Youth Choir (CYC).  Primary responsibilities of the position are to serve as pianist for the GE and CYC.  Music performed is for a mixed choir of voices that will include primarily contemporary gospel, spirituals, some traditional gospel, hymns and anthems for regular GE and CYC scheduled morning worship, joint and other periodic worship services to support the Church. Music for children will be appropriate children’s music for ages Pre-School through High School.  Experience playing piano in a church setting for traditional, contemporary gospel, and children & youth music is required.  GE will sing once per month and CYC will sing once per month. Time commitment will be approximately one and one half hours per worship service and one and one half hours per rehearsals for each choir.  The full job description and application for the position are posted on the Church Street Web site at (www.churchstcpca.org).

            This position announcement will be open until filled for a position vacancy beginning as early as 1 September 2024.  Review of applications will begin 15 August 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.  When the position is filled, it will be announced on the above website.  Candidates will be invited to participate in a regular rehearsal of the GE & CYC to demonstrate their music performance skills, proficiency, suitability and compatibility with the Choirs and type of music performed.  Employment status will be as a part time employee and completion and submission of IRS FORM W-4 will be required.
